A hands-on HR role with plenty to keep you busy through to the end of the year!

Temporary / through to end of year

3 days a week (0.6) / Hybrid

Cremorne

$620 - $640 inc. super per day

What's the brief?

We're partnering with a growing organisation operating across the renewable energy and infrastructure space to find an experienced HR professional who can jump in and provide additional support through to the end of the year.

This is a practical, hands-on and largely standalone role supporting an Australian workforce of approximately 50 employees across engineering, project delivery and corporate functions. You'll have support and context from the broader team, but day-to-day you'll be the person keeping local HR activity moving.

Recruitment will be a big focus from the outset, with a number of active vacancies across the business. You'll keep processes moving, coordinate agency partners and hiring managers, manage approvals and support contracts and onboarding.

But this isn't purely a recruitment role.

October brings the employee engagement survey and promotion cycle, followed by end-of-year performance activity through November and December. Alongside that, you'll manage general HR queries, support managers with day-to-day people matters and help keep the broader HR function running smoothly.

You'll have support and organisational context around you, but they need someone experienced enough to pick things up quickly, use their judgement and operate without significant handholding.

Is This Your Perfect Match?

You're a practical HR generalist who enjoys getting stuck into the day-to-day.

You're comfortable juggling recruitment, onboarding, employee queries,

systems and people processes, and you don't need everything mapped out for you before you can get moving.

Recruitment experience will be particularly useful. You'll be managing multiple vacancies at once and coordinating external recruitment partners, so you're organised and good at keeping hiring managers and processes on track.

You'll also be comfortable providing managers with practical advice on routine employee and performance matters, while knowing when something needs to be escalated.

Most importantly, you're happy stepping into an existing environment, picking things up quickly and helping keep everything moving during a busy few months.

Your Role in Action

- Manage and coordinate ongoing recruitment across a range of corporate, engineering and project-based roles
- Partner with hiring managers and external recruitment agencies to keep recruitment processes moving
- Manage recruitment approvals, interviews, references, offers and contract generation
- Coordinate onboarding and associated HR administration for new starters
- Maintain employee and recruitment information within SuccessFactors
- Respond to day-to-day HR queries and provide practical advice to managers
- Support routine employee and performance matters as they arise

- Launch and administer the October employee engagement survey
- Monitor survey completion, review results and identify key themes and trends
- Support managers with post-survey planning and follow-up activity
- Assist with the upcoming promotion cycle and administration of the new process
- Support preparation and delivery of the end-of-year performance review cycle
- Work alongside the Office Manager on employee events and culture activities
- Support payroll-related administration and ensure employee changes are communicated appropriately
- Keep HR processes, documentation and administration moving across the Australian business

What You Bring

- Broad HR generalist experience across recruitment, onboarding and day-to-day HR support
- Robust recruitment coordination or end-to-end recruitment experience
- Confidence working directly with managers and providing practical HR advice
- The ability to operate autonomously and make sound judgement calls on routine matters
- Experience supporting performance processes and employee lifecycle activity
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
- Experience working with an HRIS – SuccessFactors experience would be advantageous but isn't essential
- Exposure to engagement surveys or employee listening programs would be useful
- A practical, adaptable approach and the ability to get up to speed quickly
- Construction, engineering, infrastructure or project-based industry experience would be advantageous but isn't essential
- Availability to start promptly and commit through to the end of the year
