Business Improvement Consultant - Supply Chain & Inventory

We're currently recruiting for a Business Improvement Consultant – Supply Chain & Inventory within a large rail business. This is an opportunity to improve inventory management, systems, governance and reporting while working across stores, warehouse, maintenance, engineering and asset management functions.

Please note that this is a 6-month contract at present with the prospect for extension, offering a hybrid working arrangement.

Roles and Responsibilities

n

n
- Assess the current inventory operating model across processes, systems, data, governance and stakeholder interfaces.
n
- Identify gaps, risks and improvement priorities across inventory, stores and materials management.
n
- Develop practical improvements to inventory processes, controls, reporting, documentation and governance.
n
- Personally deliver short term improvement activities including data analysis, reconciliations, procedures, dashboards and treatment plans.
n
- Drive actions through to implementation, working across Stores, Maintenance, Technical, Asset Management and Supply Chain teams.

Skills and Requirements

n

n
- Experience in an asset heavy environments: rail, rolling stock, transport, infrastructure, mining, resources, utilities, defence, engineering, manufacturing or heavy maintenance.
n
- System level thinker who can identify and communicate deficiencies in people, process, and/or technology interfaces.
n
- Experience with Excel, Power BI, ERP, and CMMS such as Ellipse, Maximo, and SAP would be highly regarded.
n
- Experience across inventory management, inventory control, materials management, spare parts, rotables, supply chain, procurement, stores, warehouse, logistics and/or asset management would be highly valuable.
