What You'll Be Doing

Role In this role, you'll support the triage, administration, and processing of counter fraud activities across our insurance portfolio. Day to day, you'll:

- Apply your knowledge of the insurance or financial crime industry to support effective fraud identification and case management
- Utilise the intelligence cycle to inform and strengthen counter fraud positions, building this knowledge in a hands-on operational context
- Apply strong critical thinking and logical reasoning to assess complex scenarios and build a coherent picture of events
- Prepare accurate, well-structured briefs and findings for peers and external stakeholders, communicating key information clearly and with precision
- Leverage open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques or develop this capability to enhance counter fraud outcomes
- Manage a portfolio of cases with a focus on timely turnaround, meeting established metrics and contributing to high customer service standards
- Engage professionally and empathetically with sensitive content, maintaining composure, objectivity, and discretion at all times
- Stay across emerging fraud trends, evolving methodologies, and relevant legislative frameworks including the General Insurance Code of Practice (GICOP), the Insurance Contracts Act, and the Privacy Act
- Build robust working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, adapting your communication style to suit your audience

You'll Bring

- Strong computer literacy and administration skills, with the ability to navigate investigative tools and systems effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills — you build rapport easily and communicate with confidence across all formats
- Proven time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and consistently meet deadlines
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with the professional resilience to thrive in a complex, demanding environment
- A naturally inquisitive mindset and a genuine interest in fraud, intelligence, or financial crime
- Tertiary qualifications in intelligence, criminology, justice, or a related discipline would be highly regarded
- Previous experience in the insurance industry, preferably within a claims environment
