Role Description The Junior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sydney, NSW. This role involves assisting with daily accounting operations, including processing invoices, recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank and client accounts related to foreign exchange and cross-border payments.

The Junior

Accountant will support the preparation of financial reports, assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, and ensure accurate documentation aligned with internal governance and compliance requirements. The role includes working closely with senior finance and compliance team members to support customer due diligence, risk management processes, and regulatory reporting. Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is preferred to help communicate with clients and stakeholders and to support cross-border transactions.

Qualifications

- Foundational accounting skills, including bookkeeping,



account reconciliation, and basic financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and data entry skills for handling high-volume transactions.
- Understanding of financial services or foreign exchange operations, or a demonstrated interest in these areas.
- Ability to follow compliance, customer due diligence, and risk management procedures in a regulated environment.
- Proficiency in English, with Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills preferred for client and stakeholder communication.
- Competence in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other office productivity tools.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented, on-site setting.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or progress towards a degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to evolving business processes, and develop professionally within the organization.

- 0–2 years of relevant experience; graduates are welcome to apply
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Valuable Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Reliable, organised and willing to follow tasks through
- Comfortable with routine and repetitive work
- Able to communicate clearly and ask questions when something doesn’t look right
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or Australian Permanent Residency, is highly preferred due to long-term work rights requirements
