About the Roles

Junior School teachers at Mercedes College play a vital role in shaping students' learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging.

We have two positions on offer in our Junior School (Reception to Year 5):

- A fixed-term position for the full 2027 school year.
- A fixed-term position for Terms 1 and 2 of the 2027 school year in Year 4

Teaching year-level allocations for the fixed term position for the full year, will be determined based on the experience, strengths and suitability of the successful applicants, together with the operational needs of the College.

- Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging learning experiences aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
- Create safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environments
- Foster student wellbeing, engagement and a love of learning
- Differentiate teaching to support the diverse needs of learners
- Use assessment and student data to inform teaching and monitor progress
- Build strong and positive partnerships with students, families and colleagues
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices
- Actively support and promote the Catholic identity, Mercy ethos and values of the College

About You You are a relational, reflective and passionate educator who:

- Demonstrates strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and contemporary evidence-informed teaching practices
- Builds positive and productive relationships with students, families/caregivers and colleagues
- Creates engaging learning experiences that challenge and support all learners
- Uses data, feedback and assessment to inform teaching and improve student outcomes
- Demonstrates effective learner engagement grounded in respect and positive relationships
- Values student wellbeing, belonging and social-emotional development in a faith based setting




- Contributes positively to a collaborative team culture
- Models professionalism, integrity and high expectations
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth

Experience teaching across a range of middle primary year levels (eg Years 2 to 5), will be highly regarded. Graduates and early career teachers with a passion for primary education are warmly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications and Training

Applicants must hold

- Current South Australian Teacher Registration
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- RRHAN-EC Fundamentals and Masterclass certification
- First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012 or equivalent)
- Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications
