United Care Network is seeking a compassionate, experienced and family-centred Key Worker to provide early childhood intervention services across Melbourne’s northern and western suburbs.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with children, families, educators and other professionals to support each child’s development, participation and inclusion within everyday environments.

Services are delivered in participants’ homes, kindergartens, childcare centres, schools and community settings.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver family-centred early childhood intervention using a Key Worker model.
- Complete initial consultations and identify the priorities of children and their families.
- Develop individualised goals and intervention plans.
- Support children’s communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, play, attention, independence and daily-living skills.
- Provide practical coaching and capacity-building strategies to parents and caregivers.
- Embed intervention strategies within the child’s everyday routines and natural environments.
- Work collaboratively with educators, allied health professionals and other members of the child’s support team.
- Coordinate communication between families and the multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor progress and review intervention strategies regularly.
- Prepare accurate progress notes, reports, therapy plans and NDIS supporting documentation.
- Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents and changes in risk.
- Maintain professional, ethical and NDIS-compliant practices.

Qualifications and experience Applicants must hold a recognised qualification in a relevant discipline, such as:

- Early childhood education;
- Occupational therapy;
- Speech pathology;
- Physiotherapy;
- Psychology;
- Social work;
- Developmental education; or
- Another relevant bachelor's degree in allied health, education or developmental discipline.

Applicants must also have:




- Experience working with children and families.
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood intervention.
- An understanding of family-centred, strengths-based and neuroaffirming practice.
- Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, developmental delay, communication differences or emotional-regulation needs.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and time-management skills.
- High-quality clinical documentation and report-writing skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.

Essential requirements Successful applicants must hold or obtain:

- Current registration or professional membership where applicable to their discipline.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Clearance.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Infection prevention and control training.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence.
- Access to a reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Australian working rights.
- Current ABN and capacity to provide tax invoices.
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
- Personal accident or income-protection insurance.
- Two professional referees.

Applicants must also be willing to complete organisational induction, child-safety training, mandatory-reporting training and participant-specific training.

Pay: $65.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 – 20.0 per week
