Medical Secretary – Part - Time (4 days p/w)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, mature-minded, and dedicatedMedical Secretaryto join our team!

Reporting to the Practice Manager, this is aPart - time role working 4 full days per week with no weekends required.
n The service our patients experience is our number one priority; we require someone dedicated to ensuring they receive the best care possible from the moment they walk through the door.

n

Previous experience in private specialist consulting rooms, an understanding of Private Health Insurance, experience with Gentu software. Please note this isNOTan entry-level position.

Key responsibilities include:

n

- General reception and administration duties
n
- Booking patient consultations
n
- Scheduling theatre lists and patient surgeries, including booking prosthesis and coordinating pre-operative tests
n




- Patient invoicing, including requesting and receipting payments
n
- Banking and reconciliation of monies received
n
- Processing private insurance, DVA, and Medicare claims
n
- Operating specialist software (Gentu)
n
- Liaising with surgeons, the Practice Manager, and other team members
n

Skills and experience required:

n

n
- Previous experience in a specialist surgical practice
n
- Knowledge of Gentu software preferred
n
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
n
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team
n
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
n
- Understanding of Private Health Insurance processes an advantage
n
- Strong computer/IT skills, including use of Mac
n
- Flexibility and a proactive attitude
n
