KITCHEN STEWARD - EVENTS

Hamilton Island's Events team delivers functions and catering across a variety of venues and locations, creating an operation that is constantly moving. Behind every event is a team responsible for getting equipment where it needs to be, setting up for service and packing everything down again once the event is finished. We're looking for an experienced Kitchen Steward - Events with a strong, consistent work history in physically demanding hospitality roles. This isn't just a dishwashing position - you'll play an important part in event logistics, helping move, set up and pack down catering and function equipment while supporting the wider Events kitchen team.

What you'll be doing

You'll support the Events kitchen operation before, during and after functions. Alongside traditional stewarding duties, a significant part of your role will involve transporting, lifting and moving catering and function equipment, assisting with event setups and completing pack downs across different venues. This is physical,



hands-on work that can take place in a variety of environments and weather conditions. You'll need to be comfortable with heavy lifting, changing locations and busy event schedules, while keeping equipment, kitchen areas and back-of-house operations organised and ready for service.

What we're looking for

- Previous Kitchen Steward, Kitchen Hand or similar hospitality experience with a consistent employment history
- Experience in physically demanding roles involving regular lifting and moving of equipment
- Comfortable assisting extensively with event setups and pack downs
- Ability to work across different venues and in a variety of weather and working conditions
- Reliable, organised and comfortable working independently or as part of a busy team
- Flexibility to work varied shifts based around function and event requirements
- Current Driver's Licence (Essential)
