Shiori is an Asian-inspired café in Collingwood, operated as part of the Lum Hospitality Group.
Our menu combines modern café favourites with Asian-inspired dishes, including rice bowls, sandos, burgers and brunch dishes.
We are looking for a reliable and capable Kitchen Staff member to join our team.
About the role
You will be involved in day-to-day kitchen operations, including preparation, cooking, plating and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.
The role includes
- Food preparation and mise en place
- Cooking and plating menu items during service
- Following recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards
- Maintaining food quality and consistency
- Dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning
- Stock handling and kitchen organisation
- Following food safety and hygiene procedures
- Working efficiently during busy service periods
- Assisting with other kitchen duties as required
About you We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced café environment
- Able to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Able to follow instructions and recipes accurately
- Proactive and willing to help wherever needed
- Takes pride in cleanliness, food quality and presentation
- Previous Australian café or restaurant kitchen experience is preferred
English communication is important Transparent workplace communication is an essential part of this role.
You must be able to understand instructions,
communicate with the kitchen and front-of-house team, and respond appropriately during busy service periods.
English does not need to be your first language, but you must be comfortable communicating in English in a fast-paced workplace.
Requirements
- Australian work rights
- At least 6 months remaining on your current visa
- We prefer candidates looking for longer-term employment
- Availability to work café trading hours, including weekends
- Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate
Willingness to occasionally work at our other venues when additional shifts are available is an advantage, but is not required.
