About the role New Farm Deli & Cafe is seeking an experienced and dynamic

Deli Manager

to lead our deli operations and deliver exceptional service to our valued customers. This is a

full-time position

based in

New Farm, QLD 4005 . As Deli Manager, you will oversee all aspects of deli operations, including staff supervision, inventory management, food quality standards and customer service excellence. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our deli remains a thriving hub within the community whilst maintaining our reputation for quality products and outstanding customer experience.

Key responsibilities

Oversee daily deli operations and maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation

Supervise, train, schedule and motivate deli staff to ensure exceptional customer service and operational efficiency

Manage inventory, ordering and stock rotation to minimise waste and maintain product availability

Monitor and control food costs whilst maintaining quality standards and profit margins

Prepare and serve deli products including meats, cheeses and prepared foods with expertise and attention to detail

Ensure compliance with all food handling regulations, health codes and company policies

Handle cash handling and point-of-sale operations accurately and securely

Build and maintain strong customer relationships through personalised service and product recommendations

Identify opportunities to enhance deli offerings and develop new menu items or promotions

Report to management on operational performance, staffing issues and customer feedback

What we're looking for

Proven experience managing a deli or food service department within a retail workplace

Strong knowledge of deli products including meats, cheeses, prepared foods and related offerings





Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team effectively, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and handle customer inquiries professionally

Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations and health code compliance

Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation

Reliable, punctual and able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required

Relevant qualifications such as Food Safety Certification or equivalent are highly desirable
