We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance / Handyperson to join our friendly team at our beautiful Clontarf Aged Care Facility on a full-time permanent basis.

In this important role, you will help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors and staff. From general repairs and preventative maintenance to grounds upkeep and contractor coordination, you'll play a key role in ensuring our facility operates smoothly and remains a place our residents are proud to call home.

Your Tasks Will Include

- Undertaking general maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance across the facility

- Performing minor building, installation and assembly tasks

- Maintaining buildings, furniture, equipment and mobility aids

- Assisting with basic plumbing, painting and carpentry work as required

- Carrying out grounds maintenance, gardening and general upkeep of outdoor areas

- Managing refuse collection, bin placement and cleaning

- Completing scheduled maintenance checks and maintaining maintenance records

- Coordinating with contractors and reporting maintenance issues to the Facility Manager

- Performing delivery, courier and driving duties as required

- Maintaining workshop, equipment and supplies to ensure safe operation

- Identifying and reporting hazards, risks or security concerns promptly

- Assisting to maintain a safe, tidy and presentable environment for residents and visitors

You will bring

- Experience in general maintenance, handyperson or property maintenance roles

- Experience maintaining grounds and gardens





- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- The ability to build positive relationships with residents, staff and contractors

- Good communication and organisational skills
- A genuine appreciation for working within an aged care environment
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile

Role Requirements

- Current Police Screening Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

- Current Queensland Driver Licence

- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates

- Demonstrated experience in stock management

- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

- Certificate III in a relevant field, equivalent experience, or a trade qualification in the building industry (desirable)

- Current Influenza vaccination and have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination as required for aged care settings
