Queen Victoria Care is seeking a motivated, reliable, and hands-on Maintenance & Grounds Team Member to join our Village and Property Services team.

This is a diverse and rewarding role where no two days are the same. Working across our aged care facility, retirement living village, executive building, and surrounding grounds, you will help ensure our residents enjoy a safe, well-maintained, and attractive environment that enhances their wellbeing and quality of life.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Village and Property Services, this part-time position working 4 days per week plays an important role in maintaining the presentation, functionality, and safety of Queen Victoria Care's buildings, villas, infrastructure, and outdoor spaces.

You will work both independently and as part of a supportive team, assisting with maintenance tasks, property improvements, and grounds upkeep across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests across the Queen Victoria Care site.
- Carry out general maintenance duties including painting, carpentry, basic plumbing, repairs to fixtures and fittings, and other non-licensed works.
- Assist with refurbishment projects, improvements, and property upgrades.
- Record and monitor maintenance requests and completed works.




- Maintain accurate asset management and maintenance records.
- Undertake routine inspections to identify maintenance requirements and potential hazards.
- Maintain gardens, lawns, pathways, and outdoor areas to a high standard.
- Assist with seasonal gardening programs and grounds maintenance activities.
- Operate and maintain gardening and maintenance equipment safely.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with residents, families, staff, contractors, and visitors while providing excellent customer service.

About You You are a practical and self-motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining facilities and grounds to a high standard. You enjoy problem-solving, working with your hands, and contributing to a positive team environment.

Most importantly, you have a genuine respect for older people and understand the importance of creating a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment for residents.

Essential Skills & Experience

- Experience in maintenance, property services, gardening, facilities management, or a similar role.
- Strong practical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience operating gardening and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Ability to identify and carry out preventative maintenance tasks.




- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety practices.
- Commitment to delivering respectful and professional service to residents, families, and colleagues.

Desirable Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience working within aged care, retirement living, hospitality, or a customer-focused environment.
- Trade qualification or relevant maintenance experience (highly regarded but not essential).
