We are seeking a practical, hands on Maintenance Manager to join our abattoir and meat processing operation.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional, trade qualified technician or highly skilled handyman who enjoys solving problems, working with machinery and keeping a busy production site safe and running efficiently.

You will take responsibility for day to day maintenance across our abattoir, boning room, processing areas, cold rooms, plant equipment, buildings and facilities. You will be hands on in the role and work closely with production staff, supervisors and external contractors.

Key responsibilities include

- Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance
- Troubleshooting faults in machinery, processing equipment and production lines
- Basic welding, fabrication, cutting and repair work
- Basic plumbing repairs, pumps, pipes, valves, drainage and water systems
- Electrical fault finding and minor electrical maintenance within your qualifications and licences
- Maintaining refrigeration, cold room, compressor and utility equipment through contractors where required
- Repairing doors, floors, walls, fixtures, guards, conveyors and general site equipment
- Maintaining tools, spare parts, maintenance records and work schedules
- Coordinating external electricians, plumbers, refrigeration technicians and other contractors
- Ensuring compliance with WHS, food safety, hygiene, biosecurity and plant safety requirements

We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in maintenance management, facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, plant maintenance or mechanical maintenance




- Experience in an abattoir, meat processing plant, food factory, manufacturing site, cold storage facility or similar industrial environment is highly regarded
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Mechanical aptitude and robust fault finding skills
- Experience with pumps, motors, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics or pneumatic systems
- Basic plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritise urgent repairs and remain calm under pressure
- A current Australian work right and a valid driver licence

Trade qualifications in mechanical fitting, electrical, welding, fabrication, plumbing, refrigeration or a related trade are highly regarded. This is an ongoing full time position with a supportive team and varied, practical work. Sponsorship under the Subclass 482 or Subclass 494 visa may be available for an eligible candidate. A future Subclass 186 permanent residency pathway may also be available, subject to eligibility.
