SNG Healthcare Solutions is seeking a mature, reliable and experienced Youth Mentor/Support Worker to support a 17-year-old young man living in the Fremantle area. A male mentor is preferred in line with the young person's preference.

This is an individualised mentoring/Support Worker role, focused on developing a genuine, consistent and trusting relationship with a young person. The role will involve supporting him to engage in positive activities, develop life skills, build confidence and strengthen his connection with the community. We are looking for someone who can be a positive, steady and respectful presence, while supporting the young person's autonomy, choices and individual pace.

This role may be suitable for you if you:

- Have experience working with young people, particularly adolescents who may experience emotional, social or behavioural challenges
- Have a robust understanding of professional boundaries
- Are able to build rapport naturally without being overly directive or judgemental
- Are reliable, consistent and able to commit to an ongoing mentoring relationship
- Have good communication skills and are comfortable working collaboratively with the young person, family/support network and other professionals where appropriate
- Can support positive community participation and identify activities that genuinely align with the young person's interests

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

- Youth work
- Community services
- Psychosocial disability support
- Coaching,



outdoor recreation, sport or other areas that may provide a strong foundation for positive youth mentoring
- Other relevant experience that demonstrates maturity, initiative and an ability to build meaningful connections with young people

Relevant qualifications are highly regarded; however, experience, maturity, reliability and the ability to establish a meaningful connection with the young person are equally important.

About the role

This is not a counselling, therapy or clinical role. The mentor/support worker will provide consistent, positive and practical, relationship-based support. The focus is on building trust, encouraging participation, developing life skills and supporting the young person to explore interests and opportunities within the community.

Hours & Work

Approximately 20 hours per week. Days and times are negotiable and flexible, with the expectation of ongoing, consistent shifts. There may also be opportunities for additional flexible hours as the support relationship develops.

Requirements – or willingness to obtain

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid & CPR
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
- Good English communication skills
