ICMEC Australia is looking for an experienced communications leader with strong people-management experience to lead our Communications and Government Affairs portfolio. This role has a robust communications focus. You will lead strategy and delivery across brand, media, digital, campaigns, website, social media, publications and organisational communications.

You will also oversee the day-to-day delivery of government affairs and public policy activity, working under the strategic direction of the Head of Government Affairs. You will manage two direct reports, so demonstrated experience managing, developing and supporting staff in a team environment is essential.

What you will bring:

- Significant communications, marketing, media or PR experience.
- Strong people-management and team leadership experience.
- Experience setting priorities, managing performance and developing staff.
- Excellent strategic communications, writing and messaging skills.
- Strong digital, media and campaign capability.




- A strong understanding of government affairs functions, public policy issues and stakeholder engagement.
- The ability to work confidently and sensitively with difficult subject matter, using a trauma-informed approach.
- The ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Strong organisational skills and sound judgement.
