PTY LTD About the Role The Mechanical Engineering Technician will provide technical support in relation to the operation, maintenance, testing and improvement of mechanical equipment and production systems used within our food manufacturing facility. Working closely with management and production staff, the successful applicant will assist in ensuring machinery and equipment operate safely, efficiently and reliably while supporting ongoing improvements to our production processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for: Inspecting, testing and monitoring mechanical equipment, machinery and production systems to identify faults, wear and performance issues

• Assisting with the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of mechanical plant and food production equipment

• Conducting diagnostic testing and fault-finding on mechanical equipment and machinery

• Performing and coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance activities to minimise production downtime

• Assisting in the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures

• Interpreting technical drawings, specifications, equipment manuals and engineering documentation

• Assisting with modifications and improvements to machinery and production equipment to improve efficiency, reliability and performance

• Collecting and analysing operational and equipment data and reporting on machinery performance and maintenance requirements

• Assisting with testing, calibration and adjustment of mechanical components and equipment

• Liaising with equipment suppliers, contractors and service technicians regarding repairs, servicing and replacement components

• Maintaining accurate maintenance, servicing and equipment records





• Supporting the installation and integration of new machinery and production equipment

• Identifying opportunities to improve production processes and reduce equipment breakdowns and downtime; and Ensuring all mechanical and maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with workplace health and safety, food safety and operational requirements.

Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this position, applicants should have: A relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline; 1-3 years of relevant practical experience working with mechanical machinery, plant or production equipment

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and equipment manuals

• Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and mechanical systems

• Solid organisational and problem-solving skills

• Good written and verbal communication skills; and Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a production team.

Experience working with food manufacturing, processing, packaging or other automated production equipment will be highly regarded. What We Offer
