Salary: $80,000–$90,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience

Greer Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Metal Fabricator to join its engineering and fabrication team in Archerfield, Queensland.

The successful applicant will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing and repairing metal products and structures in accordance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements and workplace safety standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Study and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications.
- Select, measure and mark metal materials required for fabrication work.
- Cut, shape, bend and form metal components using appropriate hand tools and machinery.
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including guillotines, presses, grinders, drills and cutting equipment.
- Position, align and assemble fabricated metal components.
- Join metal components using appropriate welding, bolting and riveting techniques.
- Perform MIG, TIG and other welding work where required.
- Check fabricated components for correct dimensions, alignment and conformity with specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments to inspect completed work.
- Repair and modify metal components, machinery parts and fabricated structures.
- Finish fabricated products by grinding,



filing, sanding and cleaning welded joints.
- Identify fabrication defects and complete necessary corrective work.
- Maintain fabrication tools, machinery and a clean, safe work area.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and quality-control requirements.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespersons and other workshop employees.

Qualifications and Experience The successful applicant should have:
- A relevant Certificate III or higher qualification in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, Metal Fabrication or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience as a Metal Fabricator or in a closely related position.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Practical experience in metal cutting, shaping, fitting, assembling and welding.
- Competence in using workshop machinery, fabrication tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- The ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and good time-management skills.
