Minister of Religion – Hungarian Reformed Church of Australia (Victorian District)

The Hungarian Reformed Church of Australia (Victorian District) is seeking a full-time Minister of Religion to serve its Hungarian Reformed congregation in Fitzroy North.

The successful applicant will provide spiritual and pastoral leadership to the congregation and support the religious and community life of the Hungarian Reformed community.

Key responsibilities include:

- Conducting weekly worship services and preaching in Hungarian
- Administering sacraments in accordance with the traditions and practices of the Reformed Church
- Providing pastoral care, counselling and spiritual support to congregation members
- Conducting baptisms, weddings, funerals and other religious services
- Leading Bible studies, confirmation preparation and other Christian education programs
- Providing pastoral ministry to elderly and vulnerable members of the Hungarian community
- Supporting and organising congregational and community programs
- Working with the Presbytery and church leadership in the administration and development of the congregation




- Maintaining connections with the wider Hungarian Reformed and Hungarian community in Australia

Essential requirements:

- Ordained Minister of Religion within the Reformed tradition, or equivalent recognised theological and ministerial qualifications
- Relevant theological qualifications and demonstrated pastoral ministry experience
- Fluency in Hungarian, including the ability to preach, conduct worship and provide pastoral care in Hungarian
- Good English communication skills
- Strong understanding of Reformed theology, worship and church traditions
- Ability to work independently and provide spiritual leadership to a culturally and linguistically specific congregation
- Willingness to undertake the full range of pastoral, liturgical and community responsibilities associated with the position

Pay: $79,589.00 per year
