Job Description

Tyrepower Muswellbrook is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanic to join our team. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to join our team and mentor junior mechanics whilst delivering high-quality automotive repair and maintenance services. As Senior Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our workshop operates to the highest standards of safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position is based on-site in Muswellbrook NSW 2333.

Key responsibilities

n

- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on a wide range of vehicles including diesels using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment
n
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and general servicing
n
- Lead and supervise junior mechanics and apprentices, providing technical guidance and training
n
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly and provide detailed reports to management on mechanical condition and required repairs
n
- Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including labour hours and parts used
n
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and relevant safety standards
n
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to workshop efficiency initiatives
n
- Liaise with customers to explain repair requirements and discuss costs and timelines
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology (or equivalent qualification and experience)
n
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a qualified mechanic in a workshop environment
n




- Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults across various vehicle types
n
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and workshop management systems
n
- Strong supervisory and mentoring skills with proven experience leading team members
n
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
n
- Current driver's licence and ability to test drive vehicles safely
n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to working safely and following procedures
n
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
- Desirable: Experience with modern vehicle technologies including hybrid and electric vehicles
