About the role

n

We are seeking a kind, patient, and empathetic Support Worker to provide 24/7 assistance to a client with complex care needs based in Wollongong. This role offers various shifts and the chance to deliver genuine support that enhances quality of life.

- Morning, Afternoon and sleepover shifts available
n
- Personal Care: Assistance with toileting, showering, dressing, grooming, and maintaining personal hygiene.
n
- Manual Handling and Hoisting: Safe use of hoists and adherence to manual handling procedures to support transfers and mobility.
n
- Meal Preparation: Preparation of meals and assistance with eating and drinking as required.
n
- Communication Support: Ability to understand and respond to the Adam's communication needs, ensuring clear and effective interaction., giving him time to respond.
n
- Risk Management: Workers are required to wear a hat while providing support due to Adam for his hair-pulling behaviours.
n
- Sleep Apnoea Support: Monitoring of sleep apnoea requirements and providing assistance with the use and management of the CPAP mask and related equipment if needed.

About you

n

n
- Experienced Support Worker with a Cert III or Cert IV in the relevant field
n
- Experience supporting customer s with cognitive impairment and intellectual disability
n




- Confident in manual handling and secure use of mobility equipment (e.g., ceiling hoist)
n
- Flexible and adaptable to support the clients' personal preferences, privacy, and independence
n
- Valid NDIS Screening Check, WWCC
n
