Subcontractor Support Worker

Northern and Western Melbourne

Flexible weekday, evening and weekend opportunities

United Care Network is seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Support Workers to provide individualised assistance to NDIS participants aged 0–65 years across Melbourne’s northern and western suburbs.

Services are delivered in participants’ homes and community settings.

Key responsibilities

- Provide person-centred community and in-home support.
- Assist participants to develop independence and daily-living skills.
- Support community access, social participation and recreational activities.
- Assist participants with emotional regulation and agreed support strategies.
- Follow participant care plans, behaviour support plans and risk-management strategies.
- Provide developmentally appropriate support to children and young people.
- Maintain professional boundaries and safeguard participant dignity, privacy and choice.
- Complete accurate and timely progress notes.
- Communicate professionally with participants, families and other members of the support team.
- Report incidents, risks and changes in participant needs in accordance with organisational procedures.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants must have

- Experience working with children and young people.
- Experience supporting people with disability.
- An understanding of person-centred practice, positive behaviour support and skilled boundaries.
- Strong communication, reliability and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently and follow participant support plans.

A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services,



Education Support or a related field is preferred. Applicants currently studying a relevant disability, community services, education or allied health qualification are also encouraged to apply.

Essential requirements

Successful applicants must hold or obtain:

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Clearance.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Infection prevention and control training.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence.
- Access to a reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Australian working rights.
- Current ABN and capacity to provide tax invoices.
- Appropriate public liability and personal accident or income-protection insurance.
- Two professional referees.

Applicants must also be willing to complete organisational induction, child-safety training, mandatory-reporting training and participant-specific training.
