Key Responsibilities

- Administer and maintain Microsoft Hyper-V virtualisation infrastructure, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimising virtual machines
- Manage Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services
- Monitor system health, performance metrics, and capacity planning across servers and network infrastructure
- Perform regular patching, firmware updates, and security hardening in line with organisational policies
- Manage backup and disaster recovery systems, including regular testing and verification of restore procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve network, server, and application issues in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and operational procedures
- Participate in on-call rotation to support 24-hour business operations
- Collaborate with the broader technology team on infrastructure projects and improvements

Required Skills & Experience





- Minimum 3 years' experience in a system or network administration role
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V virtualisation
- Solid experience administering Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
- Sound understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, and switching
- Experience with backup technologies and disaster recovery procedures
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues methodically
- Robust documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Australian citizenship required for this position

Desirable

- Experience working in environments with strict uptime requirements or SLAs
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (PRTG, Zabbix, or similar)
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE, or Azure equivalent)
- Experience with SQL Server administration
