Journey Early Learning is looking for a Payroll Officer to join our Support Office team. This is an opportunity to bring your payroll experience into a collaborative environment where you'll play an important role in supporting our people across Journey's growing network of early learning centres.

About the Role
n
As our Payroll Officer, you'll support the accurate and timely processing of payroll while providing a responsive and people-focused service to employees and leaders across the organisation.
n
You'll be responsible for:
n
n
- Supporting end-to-end payroll processing and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
n
- Maintaining accurate employee payroll records and data
n
- Responding to payroll queries and providing clear support to employees and leaders
n
- Identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies and issues
n
- Completing payroll reconciliations, reporting and data checks
n
- Using Excel to manage, analyse and maintain payroll information
n
- Supporting payroll compliance and ensuring processes are followed accurately
n
- Contributing to payroll process improvements and system enhancements
n
- Working collaboratively with People & Culture and other Support Office teams
n
n

About You
n
We're looking for a Payroll Officer with 2–3 years' experience who is confident in their payroll knowledge and excited to continue learning and developing.
n
You'll bring:
n
n
- 2–3 years' experience in payroll or a similar role
n
- Experience supporting end-to-end payroll processes
n
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
n
- Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data
n
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
n
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership and responsibility
n
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with employees and stakeholders
n
- A willingness to learn new systems, processes and ways of working
n
- A collaborative approach and genuine interest in contributing to a positive team culture
n
n
Experience with Employment Hero will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
