Associate Lawyer – Commercial Litigation and Insolvency

We are a boutique and reputable law firm in Sydney, specialising in complex commercial litigation, corporate insolvency, restructuring, and technology related compliance regulations. We are looking for an associate-level lawyer to join our high-powered team.

About the Role

As an Associate Lawyer, you will work closely with the firm's partners and other lawyers in managing commercial litigation and corporate insolvency matters from commencement through to resolution.

Your responsibilities will include:

managing commercial litigation matters, including debt recovery, contractual disputes, equity and trust disputes, and matters arising under the Corporations Act;

preparing and reviewing pleadings, affidavits, submissions, evidence and other court documents;

conducting legal research and providing written and oral advice on complex legal issues;

managing discovery, evidence preparation and other interlocutory processes;

assisting with and appearing in court proceedings, conferences, mediations and negotiations as appropriate;

advising clients in relation to corporate insolvency, restructuring and liquidation matters;

acting for and advising companies, directors, creditors, insolvency practitioners and other stakeholders in insolvency-related matters;

contributing to litigation strategy and the conduct of complex matters; and





working collaboratively with the firm's partners and other members of the legal team.

About You

To be considered for this position, you will have:

approximately 2–3 years' post-qualification experience , with substantial experience in commercial litigation (debt recovery, contractual disputes, equity and trusts, and the Corporations Act);

exposure to corporate insolvency and restructuring matters;

strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills;

experience preparing court documents and managing litigation matters;

the ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a legal team; and

admission as an Australian legal practitioner and eligibility to hold a practising certificate in Recent South Wales.

Experience in technology-related regulatory or compliance matters will be highly regarded but is not essential.
