We are partnering with an established passenger transport operator to appoint an experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join their workshop team in Sunbury.

About The Role This is an chance for a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join a professional workshop environment responsible for maintaining a reliable and safe heavy vehicle fleet.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure maximum fleet availability and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections, and repairs on heavy vehicles

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, braking, suspension, drivetrain, cooling, and engine systems

Complete fault finding using diagnostic equipment and specialised tools

Maintain accurate job records and documentation





Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with WHS requirements

Support breakdown repairs and general workshop activities

Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and reliability

About You To be successful, you will have:

Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent

Experience working on heavy vehicles, buses, trucks, or fleet equipment

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Current driver’s licence (heavy vehicle licence highly regarded)
