An exciting chance has become available for a self-motivated and experienced Overseer at Davenport Downs/Springvale Station. Located in the heart of the Channel Country of south-west Queensland, Davenport Downs and its outstation Springvale, together form a 3.7 million acre aggregation capable of carrying up to 25,000 head of cattle. Davenport Downs is an integral part of the success of the Paraway’s Northern breeding operations, receiving the bulk of its cattle from Armraynald and Gregory Downs, which are grown out for markets on the East Coast.

Our Overseer supports the Station Manager in the day-to-day management and operation of our station and plays a key part in maintaining livestock and infrastructure, and ensuring safe and work practices across all their activities

Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with the planning,



coordination and delivery of daily operational activities, including:

- Assist in cattle yards and with mustering
- Maintain waters and with the cleaning of troughs
- Maintain road with grader and loader
- Monitor livestock (including horses) health and welfare, promptly identifying issues and escalating when required
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of fences, yards, water systems and other infrastructure
- Unload / load cattle / feed cattle in yards
- Monitor equipment use and report any damage or maintenance requirements
- Ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
