light vehicle & mechanical trades - rail workshop

Our client is a leading provider of transport maintenance services across Australia. Due to ongoing contracts, we are seeking multiple skilled Mechanical Tradespeople to be based in their Newcastle based Workshop.

What’s Involved?

- Production workplace of refurbishing rolling stock for passenger trains
- Machine Operating - Lathes and Borers
- Build and overhaul brake systems
- Strip and reassemble wheel sets from the Rail Industry
- Mount and overhaul bearings
- Operating a wide range of hand and power tools
- Collaborating as part of a dynamic team

What We’re Looking For:

- Mechanical Trade Qualification - Light Vehicle Mechanics, Mechanical Fitters or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
- Must be able to work rotating day and afternoon shift
- A great attitude and willingness to learn
- Forklift and Dogging ticket highly regarded
- Must be able to pass a Rail Category Medical
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Excellent references to support your application
