We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Trainer & Assessor – Health & Aged Care to join our education team.
n
This is a part-time, hands‐on training and assessment role for a Registered Nurse with current industry experience who enjoys teaching, assessment and supporting students across different stages of their studies.
n
Working Arrangements
n
n
- Monday to Thursday – fixed working days
n
- 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
n
- Optional Friday hours may be available by agreement
n
- $88K–$98K pro-rata + Super
n
n
You will work closely with the Head Trainer and wider education team, stepping in where training, assessment and student support are needed most.
n
About the Role
n
You will deliver and assess across qualifications including:
n
n
- Certificate III in Individual Support
n
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
n
- Certificate IV in Ageing Support
n
- Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
n
n
This is a varied role rather than a position focused on one class only. Depending on operational and student needs, your work may include classroom delivery, relief teaching, assessment marking, student support, practical assessments and work‐placement activities.
n
The role is well suited to someone who enjoys variety,
works confidently across different training activities and is comfortable supporting students and the wider training team as needed.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Deliver engaging face‐to‐face and online training and assessment
n
- Provide relief teaching and assessment marking as required
n
- Monitor student progress and provide catch‐up or additional support where needed
n
- Conduct and assess student simulation and role‐play activities
n
- Support students preparing for practical assessments and work placement
n
- Conduct work‐placement visits and assess students' practical workplace skills
n
- Complete assessment marking, trainer observations and work‐placement records accurately
n
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to students
n
- Participate in validation, quality checks and continuous improvement activities
n
- Work collaboratively with Trainers, Assessors and administration staff
n
n

- A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching, assessment and student support

- Confidence working across classroom teaching, assessment marking, role plays, student support and workplace assessment
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping
n
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team
n
- A student‐focused approach and commitment to quality outcomes

Essential Requirements
n
n
- Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
n
- Current and relevant nursing or healthcare industry experience
n
- Relevant vocational qualifications and industry competency to deliver and assess the listed qualifications
n
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent, or currently working towards an accepted TAE qualification
n
n
Desirable
n
n
- Previous experience as a VET Trainer and Assessor
n
- Experience delivering one or more of the following:n n
- Certificate III in Individual Support
n
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
n
- Certificate IV in Ageing Support
n
- Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
n
n
- Experience supporting self‐paced students
n
- Experience conducting simulation, role‐play and workplace assessments
n
- Experience using aXcelerate or another student management system
n
- Experience working with domestic and international students
n
n
