About the role

Chamberlain Auto Electrics is seeking a Parts Interpreter and Receptionist to join our team in Welshpool, WA 6106. This is a full-time position that combines front-of-house reception duties with technical parts interpretation responsibilities. You will be the first point of contact for customers and play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations by managing customer enquiries, coordinating parts orders, and providing technical guidance on automotive electrical components.

This role is essential to our business, bridging communication between customers, mechanics, and suppliers whilst maintaining the high standards of service our clients expect.

Key responsibilities

- Greet and assist customers upon arrival, providing courteous and professional reception services
- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct enquiries to the appropriate team members
- Interpret customer requests and identify the correct automotive electrical parts required, utilising technical knowledge and parts catalogues
- Process customer orders accurately and ensure timely placement with suppliers
- Manage appointment scheduling and maintain the reception diary
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, parts orders and transactions
- Process payments and manage financial transactions in accordance with company procedures
- Provide quotations for parts and labour based on customer requirements
- Liaise with mechanics and technicians to clarify parts specifications and job requirements
- Maintain a clean and organised reception area and parts department
- Handle administrative duties including filing, data entry and correspondence

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working in a reception role, ideally within the automotive or trades industry
- Technical knowledge of automotive electrical systems and components, or a willingness to develop this expertise
- Proficiency in reading parts manuals, technical diagrams and automotive electrical schematics




- Solid organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Customer service orientation with the ability to build positive relationships with clients
- Proficiency in computer systems such as Xero and Mechanics Desk are highly desirable
- Attention to detail and accuracy when processing orders and managing records
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to challenges
- Current Australian driver's licence is required
