Parts Interpreter – Yarra Valley Ag

Join our award-winning, family-owned agricultural machinery dealership in Lilydale! Yarra Valley Ag is looking for a motivated, organised and enthusiastic Parts Interpreter to join our friendly and growing team.

Working with leading brands including Kubota, Husqvarna, Walker and more, you will play an important role in supporting our customers and workshop by ensuring the right parts are sourced, ordered and supplied efficiently.

About the Role

As our Parts Interpreter, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service while managing parts enquiries, ordering, stock control and supplier communication. You will also work closely with our Service Department to ensure parts are organised and ready for upcoming service and repair jobs, helping to keep our workshop running smoothly and efficiently.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a team, has strong attention to detail and takes pride in providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Parts Management

- Provide friendly and professional customer service in person, over the phone and via email.
- Assist customers with parts enquiries, identification, pricing and availability.
- Prepare accurate quotes and provide information on parts and accessories.
- Communicate with customers regarding parts orders, expected delivery times and any delays.
- Notify customers when ordered parts are ready for collection.
- Identify, source and order the correct parts for customers and workshop requirements.
- Process customer and workshop parts orders accurately and efficiently.
- Follow up outstanding orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

Workshop & Service Parts Coordination
- Identify, source and organise the correct parts required for upcoming service and repair jobs.
- Prepare and maintain service parts boxes, ensuring all required parts are ready and available prior to scheduled jobs.
- Liaise with the Service Department to ensure parts are ordered and received in time for scheduled work.




- Monitor outstanding parts orders for service jobs and communicate any delays to the relevant team members.
- Ensure all parts supplied to the workshop are accurately recorded and allocated to the correct service job.

Stock Control & Deliveries
- Receive, check and process incoming parts deliveries.
- Ensure all incoming parts are correctly recorded and stored in their designated locations.
- Assist with stock control, stocktakes and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Maintain a clean, organised and effective Parts Department.

About You

We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised and passionate about delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- High attention to detail when identifying, ordering and processing parts.
- The ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a rapid-paced environment.
- Experience with parts ordering systems, inventory management and computer software (preferred).
- Agricultural machinery, automotive or mechanical industry knowledge (highly regarded).
- The ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers and workshop staff.
- A proactive, positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
