Cakes By Judyc is looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to join our small team in Ashgrove, right as we head into our busiest time of year. If you know your way around a kitchen, work well without being told what to do next, and can follow a recipe to the letter, we'd like to hear from you.

About us

We're a local cake and pastry shop in Ashgrove, Brisbane. We're a small, hands-on team, and everyone who works here takes pride in what goes out the door. As Christmas approaches and orders pick up, we need an extra set of experienced hands to help us keep quality high and turnaround times tight.

About the role

You'll take ownership of your own section of the kitchen, working independently to prepare and finish cakes and pastries to a consistently high standard. You'll be trusted to manage your own time and workload, follow recipes accurately without step-by-step supervision, and adapt as our hours grow heading into the festive season.

What you'll do

- Prepare, bake and finish cakes and pastries to recipe, working independently
- Read,



interpret and follow recipes accurately, including for custom orders
- Maintain consistent quality and presentation across everything you produce
- Keep your section clean, organised and stocked through service
- Manage your own workload and pace without close supervision
- Help the team scale up production as we move into our busiest season

What we're looking for

Required:

- Trade-qualified pastry chef (or equivalent training), with 2+ years' experience in a skilled kitchen
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to read, understand and complete a recipe accurately on your own
- Reliable and steady under pressure, especially during busy periods

Preferred (not required):

- Experience in a small bakery or cake shop
- Cake decorating experience
- Availability to pick up extra hours over the Christmas period

Pay Based on skill level and experience; we'll talk specifics with shortlisted candidates.
