An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Security Technician / Commissioning Engineer to join a growing team delivering electronic security solutions across commercial and critical infrastructure projects throughout Sydney and surrounding areas.
n This is a hands-on role suited to a technician who enjoys working on complex systems, commissioning large-scale projects and solving technical problems from installation through to final handover.
n The RoleYou will be responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, commissioning and fault-finding of integrated electronic security systems, including:

n

- CCTV and enterprise VMS platforms
n
- Access control systems
n
- Intruder and perimeter detection
n
- Integrated building security systems
n
- Controllers, readers, cameras and servers
n
- Head-end security software and system integrations
n
- IP networks, PoE and basic switch configurations
n

n

You'll work across a range of commercial, construction and critical infrastructure environments, ensuring systems are installed and commissioned in accordance with project requirements, manufacturer specifications and relevant Australian Standards.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Install, configure and commission electronic security systems
n
- Complete end-to-end commissioning and system testing
n
- Diagnose and rectify faults across security systems and networks
n
- Conduct pre-commissioning inspections and testing
n
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation
n




- Complete commissioning records, as-builts and system backups
n
- Assist with system handovers and client training
n
- Liaise professionally with clients, site teams and building managers
n
- Complete preventative maintenance and reactive service work when required
n

About You

n

We're looking for someone with:

n

n
- Relevant Cert III or higher qualification in electrotechnology, electronics, security or a related trade
n
- Commercial or critical infrastructure security installation/commissioning experience
n
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, including IP addressing, VLANs and PoE
n
- Ability to read electrical, security and architectural drawings
n
- Current Security Installer Licence or ability to obtain one
n
- Unrestricted driver's licence
n
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
n

n

Experience with Gallagher and/or Integriti will be highly advantageous.

n

Experience with Milestone, Genetec, Honeywell, Inner Range, Lenel or C-Cure will also be well regarded.
