Operations Manager – Parkes, NSW

Workforce Extensions are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of project delivery, regional teams and day-to-day operations across Western NSW.

This is a senior, hands‑on leadership opportunity with a growing regional contractor delivering diverse civil construction, infrastructure, land management and commercial landscaping projects.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to executive leadership, you'll take a leading role in coordinating multiple projects, regional teams, resources and client relationships.

This is not a desk‑based management role. You'll be regularly travelling throughout Western NSW, visiting active project sites, supporting supervisors and crews, working with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered safely,



efficiently and commercially.

You’ll have the autonomy to make decisions, influence operational performance and contribute directly to the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the successful delivery of multiple regional projects.
- Lead and support supervisors, field crews, subcontractors and operational teams.
- Coordinate workforce, plant, equipment and resource allocation.
- Manage project scheduling, productivity, quality and performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, councils, landowners and suppliers.
- Monitor budgets, costs, variations and resource requirements.
- Coordinate fleet, plant and equipment across projects.
- Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, quality and ISO requirements.
- Provide operational reporting and updates to executive leadership.
- Support the growth and continuous improvement of regional operations.

About You

You’ll ideally have 5+ years' experience in an operational leadership role within civil construction, infrastructure, commercial landscaping, land management or a related industry.

We’re looking for someone who can confidently manage people, projects,



clients and resources and isn’t afraid to get out in the field and get things done.

You will bring:

- Proven experience managing multiple projects, crews or work sites.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Solid understanding of scheduling, resource allocation and site operations.
- Commercial awareness, including budgets, costs and project profitability.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Sound knowledge of WHS, environmental and quality requirements.
- Practical problem‑solving skills and a hands‑on leadership approach.
- A current unrestricted driver’s license.
- The ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Western NSW.

Experience working with regional communities, local government and First Nations stakeholders will be highly regarded.
