The Role

n

We are seeking a solicitor to join us on a full time basis. The role will involve working 5 days per week with flexible hours. Initially it will be based in the office but there is potential to work from home.

n

This role will suit a mid-level building lawyer (1+ years PQE) who wants to manage his or her own clients and become a leader in the firm.

Key Responsibilities

n

Your responsibilities will include all facets of front and back end residential building law including:

n

- Preparing pleadings and evidence
n
- Briefing experts and counsel
n
- Providing client advice
n
- Settlement negotiations and documentation
n
- Client management
n
- Building and construction litigation
n
- Contractual and commercial disputes
n
- Procurement and front-end advisory work
n




- Complex construction claims and dispute resolution
n

n

You will report directly to the firm's principal and act as the anti-money laundering compliance officer for the firm.

n

Skill & Experience

n

Please note that successful candidates will have to pass a police clearance check due to the role as the firm's anti money laundering compliance officer.

n

Required Skills

n

n
- Experience in building litigation
n
- Familiarity of theHome Building Act 1989 (NSW), Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW),Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 (NSW)and other relevant legislation
n
- 1–3 years PAE in litigation and commercial law (property experience helpful but not essential)
n
- A genuine interest in construction law – contracts, projects, disputes, problem-solving
n
- Exposure to general commercial disputes connected to construction and property matters
n
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
n
- Experience in drafting and preparing costs assessment applications
n
- Confidence and maturity
n
- Experience in using SILQ, Xero, NSW Online Registry and AI software (Parachute)
n
- Ability to speak multiple languages is a benefit but not a requirement
n
- Ability to work in a small team
n
- Experience with clients from other countries
