About Xtra Assist Health
Xtra Assist Health is a growing health and community services provider delivering person-centred services across the NDIS and aged care sectors.
Our allied health services support participants to improve their mobility, independence, functional capacity and overall quality of life. As we continue to expand our services, we are looking for a motivated and compassionate Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team.
About the Role
As a Physiotherapist with Xtra Assist Health, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy services to NDIS participants within their homes, community environments and other appropriate settings.
You will work collaboratively with participants, families, carers, support coordinators and other allied health professionals to develop practical and participant-centred therapy programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy and functional assessments.
- Develop individualised treatment plans based on participants’ goals and clinical needs.
- Provide physiotherapy interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, pain management and functional independence.
- Develop rehabilitation, mobility and exercise programs.
- Provide falls prevention and mobility support.
- Recommend appropriate mobility aids and assistive technology within your professional scope.
- Provide education and guidance to participants, families, carers and support workers.
- Prepare professional clinical documentation, progress notes and reports.
- Prepare NDIS progress and functional reports where required.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Nurses, Psychologists, Support Coordinators and other professionals involved in participant care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with professional, organisational and NDIS requirements.
- Deliver all services within professional scope of practice and relevant clinical and ethical standards.
About You
We are looking for someone who is clinically capable, professional and genuinely interested in helping people achieve greater independence.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy.
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Physiotherapist.
- Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance where applicable.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current Working with Children Check where required.
- Current Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for community visits.
- Strong communication, assessment, documentation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to participant choice, dignity, independence and person-centred care.
Desirable
- Previous experience working with NDIS participants.
- Experience in community, disability, rehabilitation, aged care or home-based physiotherapy.
- Experience completing functional assessments and NDIS-related reports.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and mobility equipment.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary allied health environment.
NDIS experience is highly regarded but is not essential for the right clinician.
