About the Role As the Underground Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing underground mining activities, ensuring work is conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily supervision and leadership to underground mining crews.
Ensure production and development targets are achieved safely each shift.
Conduct workplace inspections and maintain accurate records.
Lead risk assessments and ensure effective controls are implemented.
Manage workforce training and competency requirements.
Supervise contractors working underground, including drilling activities.
Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, communication, and leadership.
Monitor workplace conditions and stop work when safety risks become unacceptable.
Support the development and performance of team members.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
