About the role

You will be responsible for forestry estate maintenance, including operating excavators, dozers and other heavy plant across varying terrain and ground conditions.

Key responsibilities

- Operating excavators, dozers and other heavy plant
- Ripping, mounding, cultivation and general site preparation
- Site cleanups, rubbish removal

- Firebreak management

- Excavator based mulching
- Working across varying terrain and ground conditions
- Completing daily pre-start inspections
- Identifying and reporting faults and defects
- General operator maintenance and care of machinery
- Working safely around other plant, contractors and forestry operations
- Following site plans, work instructions and Padgett Group procedures

About you

- Current HC (Heavy Combination) Driver Licence
- Demonstrated experience operating excavators and/or dozers
- Heavy plant experience within forestry, earthmoving, civil or a similar environment




- Robust machinery awareness and mechanical aptitude
- Confidence working across uneven and changing terrain
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with the wider team
- A reliable and safety-focused approach to your work
- Previous forestry site preparation experience, including ripping, mounding and cultivation, will be highly regarded
