Primary objective
Develop, implement, and support project and operational policies that support regulatory functions, strategic objectives,
operational plans and program initiatives of the Transport Safety and Services Division. Provide high-level advice,
coordination and support to the Transport Safety and Services team and work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve the outcomes.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Research, analyse and advise on the development and review of policy and reform projects to comply with the Northern
Territory’s obligations across Transport Safety and Services.
1. Support the management, development and implementation of operational, strategic, and regulatory policies and other
instruments, identifying issues, developing innovative solutions, and providing advice and information to Directors.
1. Contribute to the broader policy reform strategies across Transport Safety and Services with a continuous improvement
focus.
1. Contribute to the development of communications and stakeholder engagement.
2. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Contribute to the preparation of high-level correspondence, reports, discussion papers, Cabinet Submissions and
ministerial and Legislative Assembly briefings.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, analyse and evaluate information from diverse sources.
2. Demonstrated high-level written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise and professional
correspondence, reports, briefing papers and policy documents.
1. Demonstrated ability to successfully drive, coordinate and manage projects and milestones on time.
2. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain robust business relationships and networks and
collaborative partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to drive change and achieve quality outcomes.
1. Demonstrated high degree of organisational skills together with effective communication and negotiation skills.
2. Ability to manage workload to meet government needs and deadlines, to cope with pressure and to work effectively as
part of a small team, within a complex policy environment.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications or experience in a relevant field.
