About the role

As Group Veterinarian, you will take ownership of flock health, welfare, biosecurity and production performance across eight poultry rearing and production sites throughout Victoria. This is a hands-on, technically focused leadership role where you will work closely with Farm Managers, operational teams, hatcheries, feed mills, laboratories, nutritionists and external consultants across the full poultry lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

- Provide veterinary oversight of flock health, welfare and performance

- Develop and manage vaccination and medicinal programmes

- Conduct flock examinations, inspections, sampling and disease investigations

- Lead disease outbreak response and coordinate with relevant authorities

- Establish and maintain high standards of biosecurity across all sites

- Monitor diagnostics and laboratory results and use findings to drive preventative health strategies

- Work with hatcheries, nutritionists and feed specialists to improve chick quality and flock performance

- Train and support Farm Managers and operational teams in biosecurity and flock health

- Maintain accurate, compliant and audit-ready health, vaccination and medication records

- Stay current with developments in poultry health and veterinary science





About you

- Australian-registered veterinarian with BVSc or equivalent veterinary qualification

- Minimum 3 years' experience as a registered veterinarian

- Strong knowledge of poultry health, disease management and welfare

- Experience working within poultry systems and understanding of industry best practice

- Genuine interest in avian/poultry medicine

- Strong communication and leadership skills, with ability to work confidently with farm teams, management and external stakeholders

- Commitment to high standards of animal welfare and biosecurity

- Current Australian driver's licence and ability to travel regularly between Victorian sites

- Formal qualification in avian medicine and previous poultry veterinary experience highly regarded
