Position Overview

As we grow our Primary courses, we're hiring a Primary Content Writer to join our content team.

In this role, you'll write lesson content and assessments for Years 3 to 6 across English and Mathematics, as well as for our Selective and Opportunity Class (OC) preparation courses.

This is a full time, on-site role based at our Sydney CBD office, working within a collaborative team of writers and editors. You'll mostly work standard business hours each week, focused on writing and resourcing projects, and are encouraged to teach a minimum of three hours a week, to stay closely connected to our course offering and student.

The material we teach is one of our cornerstones and you will be a major part in continuing that legacy. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate expertise in writing content for primary age children, and ideally is familiar with more academically capable and ambitious students.

You will also be excited about new technologies and workflows, finding ways to improve the quality and efficacy of our material.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

- Content production
- Create primary course content that prepares students for the Selective School Test and Opportunity Class Placement Test in NSW
- Develop content that meets the outcomes and assessment methods set out in the NESA syllabus
- Work within our Learning Management System (LMS) to build and manage content
- Take content and lesson briefs and work autonomously to meet resource deadlines




- Edit and quality-check existing resources to improve their clarity and effectiveness
- Use AI tools and experiment with new approaches to improve writing workflows and efficiency
- Collaboration, innovation and teaching
- Continuously look for ways to improve the efficiency and efficacy of our writing and production process
- Work closely with classroom teachers and Learning Leads to get constant feedback on the resources to create continuous improvement
- Teach at least two classes a week (~1.5 hours each) to stay connected to our students, campuses and academic delivery model.

What We're Looking For Experience and qualifications

- A Bachelor's degree (or current study) in Education or Teaching is preferred but not essential
- Teaching or tutoring experience, ideally with primary school students
- Robust knowledge of the NESA Stage 2 and Stage 3 syllabus and assessment methods
- Experience with, or familiarity with, Selective School/OC preparation is desirable
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong command of English grammar
