About the role

Foodworks Worrigee is seeking a Produce Manager to join our team on a full-time basis at our store in Worrigee NSW 2540. This is a key management position responsible for overseeing the fresh produce department, ensuring quality standards are maintained, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

As Produce

Manager, you will play a vital role in driving sales, managing inventory, and leading a dedicated team to ensure our produce section remains one of the most attractive and profitable areas of the store. This position offers the prospect to make a tangible impact on store operations and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

- Managing all aspects of the produce department, including stock rotation, quality control, and merchandising to ensure fresh, high-quality products are always available

- Supervising and training produce department staff, ensuring they maintain high standards of customer service and product knowledge

- Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders with suppliers to minimise waste whilst maintaining adequate stock

- Pricing produce competitively and accurately, with awareness of market trends and promotional opportunities

- Maintaining health, safety and hygiene standards in compliance with food safety regulations and company policies

- Creating attractive and eye-catching displays to maximise product visibility and encourage customer purchases

- Handling customer enquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring resolution and customer satisfaction

- Achieving department sales targets and contributing to the overall profitability of the store





- Liaising with other departments to ensure seamless store operations and coordinated promotional activities

- Reporting regularly to store management on departmental performance, staffing needs and any issues arising

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in a produce or fresh food management role within a retail environment

- Strong knowledge of fresh produce, including quality assessment, ripeness indicators and proper storage techniques

- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members

- Excellent organisational and inventory management abilities

- Understanding of health, safety and food hygiene standards relevant to fresh produce handling

- Strong numerical skills and ability to manage budgets and analyse department performance

- Exceptional customer service orientation with excellent communication skills

- Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending and standing for extended periods

- Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to work

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required
- A valid driver's licence is preferred
