The Opportunity

Canberra Consulting is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery and implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Sitting within the Corporate Branch and reporting directly to the Branch Manager, Corporate, you will lead the ERP implementation from planning and design through to deployment, go-live and transition to business-as-usual.

This is a senior delivery role requiring someone who can combine strong project governance with hands-on delivery leadership across a complex SAP S/4HANA implementation.

You will work closely with Finance, HR, Procurement, ICT, external vendors and senior executives to ensure the program is delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:





- Developing and managing the end-to-end ERP project plan across requirements, design, build, data migration, UAT, training, go-live and transition to BAU
- Establishing and maintaining effective project governance, controls and reporting
- Preparing reports and briefings for the ERP Steering Committee, Executive Board and other governance forums
- Managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies
- Working closely with Finance, HR, Procurement and ICT stakeholders to capture requirements and ensure system alignment
- Managing relationships with vendors, contractors and whole-of-government stakeholders
- Providing explicit, evidence-based advice to senior executives on risks, dependencies and key decisions
- Leading a multidisciplinary team including business analysts, change managers and technical specialists
- Ensuring appropriate project quality management practices and standards are maintained
- Supporting change management, communications, training and user adoption activities
- Ensuring delivery aligns with relevant Commonwealth requirements, including the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, PSPF, ISM and DTA digital standards




- Conducting post-implementation reviews and capturing lessons learned

What We Are Looking ForYou will have demonstrated experience in:
- Delivering SAP S/4HANA projects
- Delivering complex ICT implementation projects within the Australian Public Service
- Managing the full project lifecycle including requirements, design, data migration, UAT, training, deployment and post-go-live activities
- Leading complex projects with responsibility for project controls, change control, risk management, quality and budget management
- Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including steering committees and executive-level governance forums
- Leading multidisciplinary teams in complex and high-pressure delivery environments
- Managing relationships across business, technical and vendor stakeholders
- Producing high-quality executive briefings, project reports and governance documentation
- Working across APS corporate functions including Finance, HR, Procurement and ICT
- Project Management – SFIA Level 6
- Stakeholder Relationship Management – SFIA Level 5
- Quality Management – SFIA Level 5
