St John of God Subiaco Hospital is undertaking the largest and most transformative redevelopment in its 128-year history, ensuring the campus remains a world-class private hospital of clinical excellence into the future.

The redevelopment will enhance the patient experience, further improve clinical outcomes, and expand the hospital’s services through new and updated facilities with innovative technologies.

The hospital is currently delivering Stage Three of the redevelopment program, which centres a current six-storey clinical building comprising a purpose-built Heart Centre, expanded orthopaedic surgical area, four integrated operating theatres, thirty bed Day of Surgery Admissions, and a new Chapel. Construction commenced in early 2026, with the facility scheduled to open to patients in early 2029.

About the role

As part of this exciting redevelopment journey, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to work collaboratively with the redevelopment project team, SJGSH caregivers, consultants, and contractors to successfully deliver all aspects of the project. This includes overseeing construction delivery, operational readiness, transition planning, and commissioning activities to ensure a seamless integration into hospital operations.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, management, and delivery of project outcomes, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will be able to drive project performance, manage risks and resources, and support the achievement of strategic redevelopment objectives.

This full-time position is offered as a fixed-term contract through to 16 March 2029.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the successful delivery of allocated projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved within approved scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Manage project planning, forecasting, resourcing, scheduling, and coordination to ensure effective execution and delivery.
- Monitor and control project financials, risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests,



implementing mitigation strategies where required.
- Develop, maintain, and report on project plans, governance artefacts, status updates, and other project documentation.
- Establish and support project governance frameworks, including coordinating meetings, reporting, and secretariat activities.
- Build strong relationships with sponsors, executives, business owners, and key stakeholders to drive engagement and project success.
- Facilitate stakeholder consultation, user groups, and change management activities to ensure operational requirements and project objectives are met.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support decision-making, maintain transparent communication, and deliver successful organisational outcomes.

Your skills and experience

You will be an experienced project professional with a proven track record supporting the delivery of complex construction projects across all phases of the project lifecycle.

A confident and collaborative communicator, you will possess exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, enabling you to influence and work effectively across all levels of the organisation.

Experience within a large project team will be highly regarded, while knowledge of the healthcare industry and Licensing and Accreditation Regulatory Unit (LARU) requirements will be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate:

- Proven experience leading and coordinating complex construction and redevelopment projects from planning and design through to commissioning and operational handover.
- Strong expertise in construction delivery, commissioning activities, and project lifecycle management within large and complex environments.




- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented setting.
- Sound knowledge of project management methodologies, supported by tertiary qualifications in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related discipline.

- Salary: $128,800 to $143,100 per annum plus 12% superannuation
- Fixed term full-time contract through to March 2029, working 76 hours per fortnight
