We're searching for a talented, creative, versatile Project Officer to join us on a 6-month fixed-term contract to help drive strategic business development, deliver robust internal governance systems and uplift our Learning and Development capability.

The Project Officer – Strategic Business Development is responsible for supporting the planning, documentation, implementation, coordination and internal change management for a range of strategic internal improvement initiatives to drive organisational change and focused internal communication and consultation processes.
The role will assist with the delivery of frameworks and artefacts to progress the implementation of Umbrella’s 2024 – 2028 Strategic Plan and its objectives of the Happiest Clients, the Best People, an Enabling Environment and Strong Governance and Brand.
The role will develop project plans, coordinate internal engagement and consultation, co-design resources and develop internal communication collateral. Working to support the Head of People and Corporate Services, the role will ensure project activities are delivered in a respectful and inclusive culture of continuous improvement and that solutions are well communicated, co-designed where appropriate and significantly reduce strategic business risks.
What you’ll do:
- Support the planning and delivery of business improvement and change initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines and project documentation.
- Monitor milestones, actions and project risks to support timely delivery.
- Map current and future business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, agendas, minutes and follow-up actions.
- Engage with staff across the organisation to gather feedback and understand business needs.
- Develop internal communications, project resources and change-management materials.
- Coordinate staff surveys, consultation activities and training needs analysis.
- Support the review and improvement of Umbrella’s intranet and internal knowledge resources.
- Contribute to post-project reviews and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- Experience coordinating projects and delivering exceptional engagement experiences.
- Strong digital literacy including use of Design and Survey software and an understanding of the application of co-design and user experience principles.
- Excellent written, visual and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Strategic communication experience.
- Understanding of the concepts of human centric change management and adult learning.
- A creative flair and passion for making a positive difference to others with the ability to exercise good judgement and common sense.
