Production Manager

to oversee our busy digital print and production operation in Surry Hills, NSW.

This is a full-time position suited to an organised, commercially minded and hands-on production professional who can take responsibility for the day-to-day management of print production while leading and supporting a small team.

The Production Manager will play a key role in ensuring jobs are produced efficiently, accurately and to a consistently high standard. You will be responsible for coordinating workflow from pre-press through to finishing and dispatch, managing production priorities, maintaining quality standards and ensuring deadlines are met.

Key responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operation of the digital print production department

Plan,



schedule and prioritise production work to meet customer deadlines

Coordinate workflow across digital printing, large-format printing, finishing and dispatch

Supervise, support and allocate work to production staff

Operate and oversee a range of digital print equipment, including production copiers, large-format printers and wide-format plotters

Review incoming artwork and ensure files are correctly prepared for production

Maintain high standards of colour accuracy, print quality and finishing

Identify and resolve production, equipment and file-related issues

Monitor production deadlines and proactively address potential delays

Manage paper, substrates, inks, toner and other production consumables

Coordinate routine equipment maintenance and liaise with suppliers and service technicians when required

Implement efficient production procedures and identify opportunities to improve workflow and productivity

Conduct quality control throughout the production process

Ensure the production area is organised, clean and operated safely

Assist with staff training and development

Work closely with management, customers and other team members to ensure jobs are delivered correctly and on time

About you We are looking for an experienced print professional with the technical knowledge and leadership skills to take ownership of a busy production environment.

You will ideally have:

Minimum

3–5 years' experience in digital print production , with previous supervisory or management experience highly regarded

Strong practical knowledge of digital and large-format printing

Experience with production workflow, scheduling and job prioritisation





Strong understanding of pre-press, file preparation and colour management

A thorough understanding of print finishing and quality control

Excellent organisational and time-management skills

The ability to lead, motivate and coordinate a small production team

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure

A high level of attention to detail

The ability to assess competing priorities and make practical production decisions

Good communication skills and a skilled approach when dealing with customers and suppliers

A proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues

A strong commitment to quality, accuracy and meeting deadlines

Australian permanent residency or Australian citizenship is required
