Budget Rent A Car is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Blacktown, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work in the automotive trades industry, specifically within diesel vehicle maintenance and repair. As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for providing essential maintenance and repair services to our fleet of commercial vehicles at various locations, ensuring our rental fleet remains in optimal working condition and ready for our customers. This role is critical to maintaining Budget's reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic work on diesel-powered vehicles, including trucks and commercial fleet vehicles

Conduct mobile servicing and repairs at client sites and Budget facilities across the Blacktown region

Diagnose mechanical faults using specialised diagnostic equipment and tools

Execute repairs to engines, transmissions, braking systems, electrical systems and other mechanical components

Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all vehicles serviced

Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements

Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle condition, repairs needed and service timelines

Monitor inventory of spare parts and tools, reporting shortages to management

Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all service locations

Assist in fleet management initiatives to reduce downtime and optimise vehicle availability

Two days at our Gosford/Tuggerah locations

What we're looking for





Current Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic licence or equivalent qualification recognised in NSW

Minimum of 3-5 years' proven experience in diesel engine maintenance and repair

Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brake systems and electrical components

Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and mechanical testing tools

Valid Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to multiple service locations

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Ability to manage time effectively and work to deadlines

Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
