Pump Power Australia is on the lookout for an experienced and qualified Pump Service Technician to join our qualified staff on a full-time basis in our workshop and out in the field.

Tasks & responsibilities

- Strip, assess, service and repair a variety of pumps and pump types
- Assemble new pumps from parts
- Attendance of job sites where pump repairs are required
- Fault-finding & troubleshooting
- Maintaining a tidy workshop and maintaining tools & equipment
- Store duties including receiving shipments, pick & packing spare parts for customer orders
- Other assistance with "rainy day" duties
- Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings.
- Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
- Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
- Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal
- Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines,



and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
- May erect pumps and associated equipment on-site

Experience & attributes:

- Forklift license and experience
- Strong mechanical skills & prior experience with pumps
- Basic computer skills for documentation & reporting
- Solid understanding of and commitment to WHS requirements
- Keen attention to detail & problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team with minimal managerial oversight
- 5 years experience as Fitter & Turner
- Restricted electrical workers license is advantageous
- Good personal presentation & interpersonal skills
- Mechanical service technician skills
- 5 or more years experience working with rotating machinery and or pumps
