Our client is a leading Australian manufacturer of steel and aluminium motor bodies, trays, and vehicle transport solutions. With a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and reliability, they supply dealerships, fleet operators, commercial customers and industry partners across Australia. As the business grows, they are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join their operations team in Canning Vale. This Purchasing Officer ensures the availability of raw materials, components, and finished products for the manufacturing, production and installation team. Working closely with production, warehouse, and leadership teams, you will process purchase orders (POs), maintain supplier relationships (local and overseas), assist with inventory and stock control, and liaise with transport and freight companies to ensure materials are available to meet production and project demands.

Responsibilities will include:

- Raise and manage purchase orders for materials, components, and operational supplies
- Purchase order receipting and record stock discrepancies
- Work closely with both local and international suppliers, and coordinate freight and logistics for both domestic and international shipments
- Review pricing and supply terms and ensure suppliers maintain service level(SLA) agreements




- Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance and product quality
- Keep accurate inventory records for raw materials, components, and finished goods within the ERP (Ostendo) system
- Assist with cyclical stock takes
- Ensure back orders and credits are applied and recorded in the ERP system
- Liaise with the warehouse team to resolve any inventory and delivery issues
- Monitor stock and inventory levels to support production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory holdings to ensure upcoming production requirements are met
- Investigate stock discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy
- Monitor supplier delivery schedules and follow up on outstanding orders
- Track inbound shipments and maintain delivery visibility

About You: To be successful in this role, you will bring strong purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. You will ideally have:

- 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory control
- Experience working within manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, or industrial supply environments
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes
- Experience managing purchase orders and supplier relationships
- Exposure to freight coordination and logistics
- Strong attention to detail and data entry skills
- ERP system experience (experience with Ostendo is highly regarded)
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Experience working with international suppliers and import logistics will be highly regarded.
