We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team in Nunawading. This is a permanent, full-time position with a dedicated focus on payroll processing, compliance and employee support.

About the role

n

Working closely with the Finance Operations and Payroll Manager, you will be directly involved across the complete payroll cycle.

n

Our workforce changes significantly throughout the year, creating a varied payroll environment with periods of high-volume processing. This role will suit an experienced payroll professional who can work accurately under firm deadlines, investigate discrepancies and take ownership of their responsibilities throughout the payroll cycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

n

Processing end-to-end payroll accurately, compliantly and on time

n

Reviewing and reconciling time and attendance information before payroll

n

Maintaining employee payroll records, including new starters, employee changes, allowances, deductions, leave and terminations

n

Calculating and reconciling PAYG withholding, superannuation, leave accruals and other payroll liabilities

n

Preparing payroll journals, reconciliations and reports

n

Supporting Single Touch Payroll and financial-year-end processing

n

Responding to employee payroll enquiries professionally and confidentially

n

Working closely with People and Culture to maintain accurate employee and payroll information

n

Maintaining audit-ready payroll records and assisting with internal and external audit requests

n





Supporting increased processing and reporting requirements during Campion's seasonal peak

n

Investigating payroll discrepancies and contributing to process improvements

n

What you will bring

n

To be considered for this role, you will have:

n

At least three years of recent, hands-on experience in a dedicated payroll position

n

Demonstrated experience across multiple stages of the end-to-end payroll cycle

n

Experience completing at least one full payroll year, including financial-year-end activities

n

Working knowledge of Australian payroll obligations, including PAYG withholding, superannuation, leave entitlements and applicable industrial instruments

n

Strong payroll reconciliation and numerical problem-solving skills

n

The ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality

n

Clear and professional communication skills when responding to employee enquiries

n

A genuine interest in developing long-term knowledge and ownership of Campion's payroll processes

n

You will also have experience with at least one of the following:

n

ADP Payforce

n

UKG Ready or a comparable time and attendance platform

n

Advanced Microsoft Excel, including functions such as XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, PivotTables and data reconciliation
n Experience processing payroll for a large casual, retail, warehouse or seasonal workforce will be highly regarded.
