Job Description
Angels on Duty is a NDIS registered disability service provider assisting people with different types of disabilities across Queensland ranging from Brisbane, Ipswich, Gold coast and Sunshine coast areas. Our services include 24/7 personal care, assistance with daily living activities, supported accommodations, community access and participation, assistance through the person's NDIS journey and development of life skills. Our goal is to support people with disability in order to build skills and make them capable so they can enjoy and feel part of their community.

About the role
n
The Bookkeeper works closely with the Management Team to record financial transactions, manage payroll, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with tax preparation and financial reporting. They play a key role in ensuring Angels on Duty's financial integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
n
Reconcile business bank transactions, loan accounts, and debit/credit card accounts in Xero.
n
Classify transactions using the chart of accounts and allocate correct GST amounts and codes.
n
Maintain accurate financial records and prepare balance sheets.
n
Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
n
Develop and implement efficient bookkeeping policies and procedures.
n
Prepare end-of-year adjusting journals to reconcile management accounts to financial statements.
n
Manage accounts payable and prepare weekly batch payments for approval.
n
Prepare and process fortnightly payroll for all employees.
n
File Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports with the ATO.
n
Prepare, reconcile and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
n
Calculate, reconcile and lodge Payroll Tax returns in accordance with state legislation.
n
Ensure compliance with all ATO, Fair Work and statutory reporting requirements.

About you
n
A formal qualification (minimum Certificate IV) in Bookkeeping, Accounting or a related field.
n
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or acceptable transitional check, being a Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption).
n
Current Open Driver's Licence.
n
Minimum Third Party vehicle insurance (for own vehicle).
n
Sound knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
n
Demonstrated ability to prepare, reconcile and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
and Payroll Tax returns.
n
Ability to interpret and apply the requirements of Industry Awards, including the SCHADS Award.
n
Minimum of 2 years' experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll or a similar finance role.
n
Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
n
Strong understanding of payroll processing, Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting, superannuation and statutory compliance requirements.
n
Strong customer service focus and proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
n
Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to maintain confidential
